Storage and Handling
NASi Transportation and Mining products are formulated with a proprietary corrosion inhibitor package to improve its compatibility with copper, brass, aluminum, aluminum alloys, zinc, and other metals and alloys. The corrosion inhibitors form a protective barrier between the metal and the liquid runway de-icing products (LRD). All equipment surfaces frequently exposed to de-icing products should be routinely rinsed with warm water (especially before and after the winter season) to prevent residue accumulation, minimize staining, and maintain equipment integrity.

Application Rates
Local conditions such as ground and air temperatures, the frequency and intensity of precipitation (freezing rain, sleet, snow, rain or a mixture), humidity, and surface materials and application equipment will have significant effect on fluid and/or solid de-icing requirements. Liquid properties including viscosity, specific gravity, and surface tension as well as temperature will influence nozzle selection and spray pressure.
Alpine RF-14F may be used for anti-icing or as de-icing products. They are ready to use and require no dilution, mixing, or heating.
The most efficient use of Alpine RF-14F is as an anti-icing product. Pre-treat the pavement uniformly before the onset of precipitation to help prevent the adhesion of ice and snow and ease mechanical removal.
For the best anti-icing performance, loose snow should be mechanically removed prior to applying Alpine RF-14F liquid runway de-icing product.

When using Alpine RF-14F as a de-icing product it is best applied in bands using high diffusion nozzles. This allows the fluid to penetrate the ice to break the bond with the surface to ease mechanical removal.

Alpine RF-14F improves the effectiveness of solid deicing products and sand. Alpine RF-14F can be sprayed directly on sand or solid deicing products or on the pavement when spreading.
